Can Skate Presented By BMO

Skaters must be at least 3 years old and able to take instruction in a group setting. This program is designed for beginners who wish to develop basic skating skills such as forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping, edges, and crosscuts. The Skate Canada series offers badges and incentives designed for this program.

Can Skate Presented By BMO

This is the next step in our group programs. Skaters must have completed Stage 4 of CanSkate and must have coaches approval. Skaters will continue to earn CanSkate and StarSkate badges. This program will consist of warm-up, edges, stroking, freeskate, dance, skills, and synchronized skating. Skaters will receive lessons with a NCCP certified coach and work with a program assistant. The program is offered 2 days per week. Skaters have the option of doing one or two days and can take Skate Canada tests.

Junior Accel

Skaters are talent identified by an Abbotsford Skating club coach. This program is by invitation only and is for skaters 9 years of age and younger. Skaters must have completed Stage 4 of the CanSkate program. This is a Freeskate program and will include warm-up, stroking, edges, turns, field movements, jumps and spins. Skaters will receive lessons with a NCCP certified coach and work with a program assistant. This program is offered 2 days per week. Skaters in this program MUST skate both days.

Private Lessons

Abbotsford Synchronized

Skating Teams

Formerly known as "Precision Skating", Synchro involves a group of skaters performing in unison. Our club operates competitive teams at the Pre-Juvenile (Ice Squirts), Pre-Novice (Ice Magic), Adult (Ice Jettes), and Masters (Ice Jewels) levels. These teams are for all ages and we encourage male and female skaters to join us.

All team members are expected to be active skaters (skating with a figure skating club on at least one non-synchro session per week) and should be comfortable performing crosscuts both forward and backward.

Abbotsford Synchronized Skating Teams are coached by Lisa Dirks and Angie Verma. Please contact Cathy McCormack (Synchro representative) at 604-852-3223 for more information.

***All sessions will run pending registration. In the event of a cancellation you will be given the choice to take another session or have your money refunded. ASC does not offer refunds without a medical certificate.
