All you need to know on how, when, and where to register.

Registration goes as following:

​

-We now accept Interact E-transfer, Visa, Master card and American Express. All late registrations will be subject to a $50 late administration fee.

​

-$45 Skate Canada Fee

​

-$30 Covid fee per skater.

 

-A responsible person, not including your skater's coach, MUST remain with your skater while they are on the ice. To respect our skaters, we ask that parents ensure any siblings or friends at the rink refrain from distracting activities in the stands.

​

"No video filming is to be done during Abbotsford Skating Club sessions unless the filming is done by a Skate Canada coach, under the direction of the skater's coach or with approval from an ASC club coach."

At registration, be prepared to bring the following:

​

  • Skate Canada Number

  • Coach Information

  • Ice Credits

  • Tests passed

  • Registration must be accompanied with payment. Cheques made payable to "Abbotsford Skating Club".

  • Visa and Mastercard payments are now accepted

  • If you do not have a music commitment cheque at registration you will not be permitted to register. You may leave a cash or credit deposit if you'd prefer.

Also, please note:

​

  • All skaters MUST be registered before your sessions begin. You will not be allowed on the ice if we have not received your registration and payment.

  • First registration priority is given to ASC skaters with accounts in good standing. All other applications are considered first-come, first-served.

  • Skaters are not permitted to sell or trade sessions

  • For private session skaters, there are music playing responsiblities - see "Music Playing" section

  • Skaters who purchase private sessions that include EMI must be aware that participation in EMI is strongly encouraged.

  • Before you submit your registration, confirm lesson bookings with your coach. However skater may skate sessions with out a coach. 

  • Late registrations will be accepted. However, the rates will not be pro-rated until three weeks into the season.

  • A $50 last registration fee will be charged for existing members registering after the final set registration date

Music Policy

​

ALL private skaters registered on any FreeSkate sessions will have the option to:

​

A: Play music during the 2018/19 season and be eligible for Ice credits or
B: Pay The current fee.

​

  • Parents who choose to play MUST leave a post dated cheque of the current fee upon registration. You will not be permitted to register without your music commitment cheque or cash/credit deposit. NO EXCEPTIONS. This will be given back.
     

  • For the Fall/Winter Season Parents who choose to play must volunteer their time for a minimum of 2 times per registered qualifying session. Fall/Winter sessions combined. If you choose to be assigned extra music shifts you will be given a $5 Ice credit per additional shift.
     

  • For the Spring Season Parents who choose to play must volunteer their time for a minimum of 1 session. If we have more skaters registered than days available to play the minimum may be adjusted.
     

  • Parents will be assigned music days 
     

  • If you are unable to make an assigned shift it is your responsibility to find a replacement for your shift or switch with another parent. You will be provided with Emails for each parent registered on your session when the schedule is sent out.
     

  • If you have switched shifts or found a replacement from another parent please make sure it is clearly noted as a “switch” or “replacement” in the music commitment book.
     

  • If you do not complete the minimum requirement of 2 shifts your music cheque will be cashed, no exceptions.
     

  • You must sign the music book in order to ensure that you get credit for ALL shifts. If their is no signature it will be assumed that you were absent and no replacement/switch was found.

KidSport

​

KidSport is a community based sport-funding program that provides grants for children 18 and under to participate in a sport season of their choice. There are 40 community chapters in BC and over 175 chapters across Canada. With the help from dedicated corporate partners, KidSport works to fulfill its mission of eliminating the financial barriers to sport participation, ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’

Fast Facts:

As little as $200 can provide a child a season of sport

​

  • KidSport was established by Sport BC in 1993

  • Provides grants for financially disadvantaged children under 18 years old, to participate in an organized amateur sport

  • Over 175 chapters across Canada

  • There are approximately 300 volunteers operating over 35 community chapters in BC

  • There are 62 sports in BC that qualify for KidSport grants

  • There are 1.2 million children living in BC families

  • There are 650,000 people who participate, volunter, or officiate in organized sport in BC

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program

​

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged kids participate in organized sport and recreation. We help cover registration, equipment and/or transportation costs.

​

  • Canadian Tire Jumpstart helps financially disadvantaged kids ranging in age from 4 to 18.

  • Potential Canadian Tire Jumpstart program recipients are selected through local chapters.
